3 Ways to Enhance Your Marketing Plan During Social Distancing
Now that it has been a few weeks into the current pandemic and with social distancing measures still in place, it is a great time to adjust your focus on the trending marketing techniques. No matter your industry, it is likely that sales have gone down due to the pandemic. Now, more than ever is the time to focus on increasing your online presence as potential customers are passing their time on social media.
Here are just a few trends that we would like to share with you:
1. Strengthen relationships with customers

This is a great time to show empathy to your customers. You know as well as they do how hard of a time this crisis has been for everyone. Showing empathy and being authentic provides that humanistic element and lets your customers know you care about them. This can even be a simple, interactive activity on social media where you ask your followers to share what you are doing to make the most out of this crazy situation. This way, you can both show empathy to your followers, and engage them in participating in the trending challenges all over social media.
2. Check out what your competitors are up to

We are likely not spending enough time checking out what our competitors are up to because it may not be top of mind during a regular workweek. Taking the time to study what competitors are doing to differentiate themselves will help you revise your marketing strategy to stay on top, although it can be challenging when you may be dealing with your own crisis management plan. However, making time to alter your strategy accordingly will ensure you still have that competitive edge over your competition when life goes back to our “new” normal.
3. Reassess your marketing strategy

What better time to reflect on your current marketing strategy than now? What worked in the past year, and what didn’t? Try experimenting with different strategies you may have always considered but didn’t have the time to implement. What have your customers wanted to see in the past, and what topics unexpectedly resonated with them? Now is the time to flatten the kinks (get it – instead of flattening the curve😉) and experiment with what you think may work for your audience.
While some of us may be spending our time baking all types of bread and other baked goods, now is the time to also reflect, asses, and reassess your current marketing techniques, and spend time revising the weak spots of your marketing plan. At Arbor mktg, we are here for you. We are happy to help guide you on where you should be focusing your energy.
